Ben Pappas, the Founder of Forward Looking, observed the struggles many small and medium-sized business owners face when it comes to making confident business decisions - most don’t have access to high-quality strategic financial advice and, as a result, make decisions about the future of their business in a highly reactionary manner.  Additionally, he noticed many owners heavily rely on their historical financial statements – which are fundamentally looking backwards in time – rather than leveraging their financial reporting in a thoughtful way to look forward into the future. As a result Forward Looking was born!

Forward Looking has seen countless business owners struggle with the balance between working in their business versus working on their business, and recognized that most owners are using their financial statements as a primary decision making tool.  

Strong decision making processes take into account the long-term plans for the business and leverage financial information as a forward-looking tool to inform and assist in day-to-day decisions.  By doing so, owners can be more confident in how their decisions impact the value of their business, more secure in their understanding of their future cash position, and develop more coherent and achievable long-term strategies that build value for all stakeholders of the business.
